She bought me my first ever set of knitting needles and beautiful hand dyed yarn from Chile. She taught me how to knit a scarf and the real achievement is that I am left handed and she managed to get me knitting right away. I was also recovering from the effects of the flu that left me dizzy. In spite of all the obstacles I find knitting very peaceful and satifying. There is something very zen like about knitting.... Will check about the book- I would also recommend the Friday night Knitting club and a series of books about yarn shops and murder mysteries by Maggie Sefton, Monica Ferris and Mary Kruger. My favourites are by Maggie Sefton which involve a yarn shop in Colorado that I would love to visit regularly and Monica Ferris' yarn shop for all of us who love to work with yarn. I am lucky enough to live near a murder mystery store the Sleuth of Baker street which caters to mystery book lovers. You just have to name a topic and there are mysteries associated with that topic.
Happy needle pointing and knitting.
NoraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
