I'll have an Egg McMuffin and Coffee Please.....

Herb Peterson, who invented the Egg McMuffin as a way to introduce breakfast to McDonald's restaurants, has died at the age of 89.

His started his career with McDonald's as VP of the company's advertising firm, D'Arcy Advertising, in Chicago. He eventually became a franchisee and was currently co-owner and operator of six McDonald's restaurants in California. As he was partial to eggs Benedict, he worked on creating something similar for a signature McDonald's breakfast and he came up with the Egg McMuffin in 1972. My own "Egg McBagelwich" is in my humble opinion, a far better tasting treat - but he came up with the idea first......
