Reader News.....

For my wacking knitting friends, Linda, who is not a knitter, writes to say that she recommends The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood. Linda reports that it is a great book about the healing abilities of knitting.....

Ken sends this photo of the Peeps Cake he made for Easter Dinner (which was a Williams Sonoma Carrot Cake - reportedly delicious)....

My Tuesday Movie Friends in Vancouver heartily recommend "Caramel" the first feature film by Lebanese director and actress Nadine Labaki.

The sun is shining here (as usual) - over 20C here today (65F+) - have a good day everyone......

Yep, that cake was delicious, although I wasn't really nuts about the taste of the peeps. As for the knitting book, I can't wait to read it. It is now snowing and blowing like crazy -- not at all like spring here in Toronto.

Apparently, we should not complain about the snow. In the past 70 years, only 3 times has it not snowed in April-I emphasize April not March. I know that we are all getting tired of this weather especially since we did not get that week in March that teases us and some people suddenly walk around in shorts as if it is warm enough. None of that this year.

I have a great carrot cake recipe which will not have peeps from a mystery book series by Joanne Fluke- the book is the Carrot Cake Mystery. I visit the Sleuth of Baker Street, a wonderful independent book store that specializes in you guessed it mysteries and the store has been in business for 27 years. Name the topic and someone has written some mysteries that include that topic. Several focus on yarn stores and knitting. There might even be some mysteries focusing on bridge players. I will ask.
More about that latter.
