Forgetting Sarah Marshall.........

For a parent and a supposedly mature (in age, only) woman, I do love raunchy, puerile movies. I find the humour brought by the new generation of film makers to be refreshing and interesting. I had to convince many friends to see 40 Year Old Virgin (and some have never forgiven me for that) and I have since enjoyed seeing all Judd Apatow's films. It just hasn't been possible to go to movie theatres since I've been in Kansas, but I was anxious to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall and to see the Warren Theatre in Old Town in Wichita. So....this is a double report.

First of all, it is a very funny film. Jason Segel, who wrote the screenplay, is likeable and appealing as a man who falls to pieces when his girlfriend leaves him. He is a bit of a loveable loser who ultimately manages to do the right things to get his life back on track.

The Warren Theatre in Old Town features full restaurant service in the movie theatre. You are offered a menu as you enter the theatre and you can order everything from soup to desserts - and alcohol. You just need to press the red button on your armrest and a waitress will take your order. The theatre has little tables that fit into the armrest, or larger TV tables for big orders. The people in front of us ordered burgers, fries and salads.....they ended up taking boxes of the leftovers home. Not bad - lunch, movie and dinner all in one! Too cool........

I also like that film a lot. And I would like being served food in a movie a lot too... even more in fact.
