Martha Stewart are ya Trying to Kill Me?

During the last two weeks we have had 3 Kansans visiting. Yesterday for one brief moment we were down to no Kansans - then 2 more magically arrived. Because we were in Kansas for such a long time, it is nice to explore Vancouver anew and to see it through the eyes of people who have never been here. We have been very busy each day - up the mountains, on the ocean, at the beach, on the docks, in the stores.....and now with new arrivals we will start again...

One thing - I am a over-flowing fountain of sightseeing information - so if you are ever planning a trip to Vancouver, write to me at quidnuncjournal@gmail.com and I will answer any questions you might have.

I haven't really had time to blog (sightseeing, cooking, cleaning, entertaining are taking up all my waking hours) but I always have time to check out Martha Stewart. Her craft of the day today was enough to do me in for good......... Check it out:

Not only do you make the tote bag, you then sew on the buttons. When was the last time you actually sewed on a button? This tote requires 100 or more buttons per side, depending on placement and button size. Martha - you are killing me........

Oh - the news flash of the day. Today my mom turns 88 years old. She golfs almost every morning (you can do that here in Vancouver) at a public executive sized golf course. This morning she got a Hole in One! A very cool happy birthday to my mom........

I can't believe that I could give Martha a tip, but what about a glue gun? Why bother sewing the buttons on when gluing goes faster and probably lasts just as long. Not that I am in the habit of hauling out the old glue gun for much of anything these days... Anyway, Happy Birthday Josephine!!! Maybe you could give Tiger Woods some pointers.

Congratulations to your mom on the hole in one. She must be so pleased.
All those buttons, anyone who would sew them on has too much time on their hands. It is enough work making the bag.
