Watch Out for those Long Releases.......

I have had lots of visitors over the last few weeks - 4 out of 5 have been first-time visitors to Canada and Vancouver. We have done many touristy things - nice quiet things, like visiting Vancouver's excellent Aquarium and visiting the historic fishing village, Steveston. As well, they have enjoyed more thrilling west-coast experiences - and for each one of these (zip-lines, sea adventures) long involved Exclusion of Liablity Forms must be signed, releasing the supplier from any liability for injury or damage. These forms take me back immediately of first year law school - and I also wonder how many hours have been spent by lawyers crafting all the ways the supplier of the adventure won't be responsible.
