A software company owner who registered the domain name Pizza.com 14 years ago has sold the domain name for $2.6 million dollars. He purchased the domain name for $20 and although nothing happened with the domain, he sat on it for a while, and then he and a friend turned it into an advertising and pizza directory. After he heard of the sale of Vodka.com, he decided to see if he could sell the name at auction.
"It's crazy, it's just crazy," he told the Baltimore Sun after the close of the auction on Thursday. Ya think???
