Thoughts about a Unity Ticket

At first blush, a unity ticket with Obama and Clinton seemed like such a perfect idea. Two deserving, smart candidates for the price of one. The Demoncratic nomination process seemed so friendly and civil. It seemed like a unity ticket could be unbeatable (and isn't that what most Americans want, to beat the Republicans?) This NYTimes article discusses the new reality of this wishful thinking.

Things aren't as sweet now - Obama and Clinton are more combative towards each other, Bill Clinton "bitterly believes that the Obama camp has portrayed him as a brutish, race-baiting campaigner" and Obama's aides believe that Clinton's baggage will damage their candidates image. And it is hard to imagine that either big ego would find happiness in the Vice-President slot. But this article says that it is still possible - do you think we should keep our fingers crossed?
