Say it isn't so. John Edwards appeared to be a decent, hardworking, family-loving man. I am always reminded of the similarity between Kenneth the NBC Page on 30 Rock and Edwards - but I have long admired Edward's focus and commitment to helping the poor and disenfranchised. It seemed like he was a good and earnest husband and father. There isn't a woman who isn't saddened by his wife's long battle with cancer.
There have been online reports for the last few months about Edwards and his alleged affair with a former campaign worker. Now there are reports of a baby - and just the other day, it appears Edwards was caught by reporters leaving the hotel room of the woman at 2:45 a.m.
I know - he is human. I also know that he is a man who has been in the spotlight and that it is easy to succumb to temptations (he is human, I know, I know). John McCain had an affair with his current wife while still married, Bill Clinton, Elliot Spitzer.....the list could go on forever.....but doesn't it make you just a little bit sad? Don't you just wish that John Edwards wasn't another one of those lyin, cheating men?

This is truly sad news. The Edwards seemed like a political couple committed to their family, each other and the causes they supported.
We always hope that people in the public eye are able to resist temptation and do the decent thing and not cheat on their spouse.
