Our Olympic tickets arrived today - here is what some of them look like. There was a lottery for tickets and although 5 of our family members applied for tickets, only 2 of us got some (and we didn't even get all that we requested). I only got 2 tickets for each event - so we can't go in a group. We have probably more tickets than we want for Whistler events, and less tickets than we want for local venues - and if you can believe it, we didn't get any curling tickets! Just shows you what I know.....
The book of rules for attending the events also arrived - no parking of any cars will be allowed at venues (each time you attend an event outside the city (the downhill events, the nordic events, the sliding events, the snowboarding events) you will need to buy a bus ticket and go to a hub to catch that bus; no outside food or drink of any kind will be permitted at the venues (get ready to buy everything at the venue); bring your VISA card, because that is the only card that will be accepted for payment and for access to ATMs.......
Mind you.....I am more excited about my offspring arriving home this weekend though than the arrival of the Olympic tickets.
At Tuesday movies this week we saw Invictus. Clint Eastwood did a great job making the story compelling and exciting. Matt Damon - swoon - was terrific as was Morgan Freeman. A definite "Go See" from me.........
