The Verbiage of Sarah Palin

Get the cat trained to dial 911 - tonight the Vice Presidential debates will have me screaming at the television. Actually, I am playing bridge tonight, so the PVR will have to record all the fun and frivolity for me.

Slate.com has put Palin's recent answers to interviews into poetry form - it is fun to read her ramblings. The poems collected were compiled verbatim from only three brief interviews - that is all we have been able to hear from her.

"Befoulers of the Verbiage"

It was an unfair attack on the verbiage
That Senator McCain chose to use,
Because the fundamentals,
As he was having to explain afterwards,
He means our workforce.
He means the ingenuity of the American.
And of course that is strong,
And that is the foundation of our economy.
So that was an unfair attack there,
Again based on verbiage.

(To S. Hannity, Fox News, Sept. 18, 2008)

and another .........

"Secret Conversation"

I asked President Karzai:

"Is that what you are seeking, also?
"That strategy that has worked in Iraq?
"That John McCain had pushed for?
"More troops?
"A counterinsurgency strategy?"

And he said, "Yes."

(To K. Couric, CBS News, Sept. 25, 2008)

Women support Obama over McCain by a seventeen point margin. It appears that Palin's negatives are high and that women have been discerning in accepting McCain's rash and theatrical VP pick. But - what exactly will happen tonight? I hope the cat is ready.........
