Yesterday, Canadians held an election and no one came. It was a $350 million dollar election that no one wanted (except for the Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, who sought to get a majority government). The most galling part is that Stephen Harper had pledged that there would be fixed term elections every four years (to stop unnecessary elections) - and then he called an election when he thought the polls showed he could get a majority government. Go Canada........
Tonight we will watch the US Presidential Candidates have their last kind-of, should-be debate. Whether they will actually debate, or actually answer the questions posed to them is another thing. For cynics like me, the question is "what dirty tricks will McCain use?", but I am a cynic after all. If only I still knew how to crochet, I would so make these........ then as the debate goes on, I could have the puppets debating and fighting on each hand.......

I was disappointed by the showing of the Liberal Party in Tuesday's Election. So much so, that the time for Dion to be replaced is (and has been) long overdue. I never understood how he was allowed to assume the party's leadership mantle to begin with!
I am not Canadian, but from an outsider's view, my take of Liberal’s convention showed me Bob Rae would have been a better--stronger--pick than Dion.
But what do I know.....
