Stitching in Wichita.........
When I am in Vancouver, I periodically meet with my friend Lee to discuss books, stitching and our lives (in that order). She is a devoted stitcher and I have great admiration for her neat, orderly and prolific stitchingworks. My stitching, although enthusiastic is always a bit pulled out of shape, rough at the back - and sometimes missing a stitch or two...... but....that doesn't always matter, as somehow, when it is made into a pillow (or two) it still looks pretty good.
Here are two identical pillows I finished while sitting in waiting rooms here in Wichita. They were purchased at a charming shop on Bowen Island in British Columbia. When I was finished the needlework, I had the pillows made at a stitching store here in Wichita. They will be gifts for two special friends. I'm working on a big flowery pillow now - no more lighthouses for a while - they make me homesick.
I leave the knitting to my wacky knitting friends, but having said that, I am enjoying The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood (thanks to a recommendation by Linda, a reader of this blog).
